Found Band Records

As info about Big Red Box has spread, some old fans have racked their brains -- and their grandmother's closets -- to find old merch and records of the band. I'm going to be keeping a running record of the fruits of their labors here -- if you find more, contact us!

i always wanted a button jacket but my dad didn't want anyone wearing black denim in his house. said it was a sign of moral depravity or something. i think it looks cool

Big Red Box button

chthonianalacrity

A button with art from BRB's first album, songs for sinners! Button vests and hats were an avenue for self-expression in the new-wave scene of the 1980s and 90s -- and can still be found today! Thanks to chtonianalacrity for locating this at a vintage clothing reseller - it helps us pinpoint when the band was most popular.

a friend of mine had a bunch like this. maybe now i'll have one to trade. if he ever wanted to trade again.

Big Red Box wristband

thatonerandompidgeon

A bit of fan merch from Big Red Box! The red-and-black color scheme is typical of the band's early period. Recovered by site user thatonerandompidgeon. Thanks a million!

i never got much into patches because i didn't have too many clothes to patch. but i knew a friend's brother who had a vest so covered in patches you couldn't see the stuff in between 'em. that was cool.

Big Red Box patch

clowninthecoffeehouse

The kind of patch you'd wear to let all the cool kids in Chicago know what you were listening to! Bands like BRB often sold handmade merch because of low production costs. This is a well-rendered hand-painted patch found by user clowninthecoffeehouse!

the umichigan jacket was my dad's. i was gonna apply. music. guess i'll never know if i would've gotten in

Big Red Box Poster

herearedragons

This hand-drawn poster is from one of Big Red Box's first appearances! Not sure when or where, but it seems to have tracks from Songs for Sinners listed, so probably early in the band's career. It's in remarkably good condition! A rare find by site user dragons.
